According to the European Construction Industry Federation, the construction industry contributes 9% to European GDP and is responsible for approximately 13% of carbon emissions. Circularity is one of the tools that can be used to avoid carbon emissions, especially in a production branch like construction, and contribute towards the Paris Agreement climate targets of limiting global warming by 1.5-2 degrees by 2050.
Equipment rental companies operate in a circular business model. The ERA expects European companies in the equipment rental markets to grow 4.8% in 2021 (-10.4% in 2020). Therefore, companies, such as Kiloutou and Loxam, will benefit from the stimulus package in Europe and have a key role to play in increasing sustainability in the construction sector.
